FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The following questions are those asked most frequently by artists.

We hope these help you navigate some of your choices.

Q1. Do I have to frame my work if it is a canvas stretched over its own wood frame?

  • No, as long as string, clips or mirror plates are attached and its ready to hang. Only put in a glass frame if you want it displayed that way.

Q.2 My work is a light drawing or print which can be hung loosely – how should I prepare?

- Attach clips, string, pins or some hanging/mounting method for us.

Q3. Is there a local framer nearby if need be.

Q4 – Do I need to provide screws or picture hooks?

  • No we will provide these.

Q5. Do I have to hand the work in personally?

  • No you can arrange your own courier if you wish.

  • Q7. My work is large or heavy – are there special access requirements?
  • Yes we have loading bay at SAT NAV PA1 1XU enter via New Street. Advise before arriving.
  • Loading Bay is for short stay delivery only – not parking. Rear doors are 2m wide by 2m tall.
  • We have hoists and goods lifts.
  • There is level access from Causeyside Street but limited street parking
  • Our largest front entrance roller shutter is 6.5m wide by 2.5m height.

  • Log in to your submission
  • www.accord2024exhibition.artcall.org 
  • In the list of entries you will see this
  • Click the icon/box on the left of the wee star. That brings up your label and you can print it from there.
  • Attach this 3 part document to our artwork.  The top part back label stays on the work, the middle part is for numbering and the bottom is a claim receipt that we stamp and marked paid at the hand-in/check in procedure. Bring all 3 part together to the hand-in.  We can re-print labels on arrival if need be.
  • Q9. Can I change any of my details?
  • Yes you can change or correct prices and titles but you must ask us to do this for you. We can only do this up until end of July 2023 and not after.

Q10. When do I hand in my work?

  • On Wednesday 17th April between 10am and 4pm
  • On your arrival there will be several desk, with a sign to indicate letters of the alphabet - this is by surname - go to your surname

Q11. Parking – where do I park?

  • There is limited street parking around us as Causeyside Street is a busy bus and commuter route.
  • There is a disabled space at our front door in front of Greggs Café.
  • There may be other metered spaces in Dunn Square, St Mirren Brae (opp. Dunn Square), Orchard Street and New Street around the corner 150 yards.

  • Q12. I can’t find The Art Department – where are you?
  • We are located on the ground and first floor of former Allders Store at The Paisley Centre. The centre can be accessed on foot from either 2-10 Causeyside Street ground floor. Or via top floor via 23 High Street mall entrance. There are lifts and escalators to all floor. https://paisleycentre.co.uk/

Q13. I have special needs and might need assistance on arrival - can I get help?

  • Yes we can assist if given plenty of notice and a request. We can’t leave the building or our post if we are short staffed but we will do our best to assist at all times.

Q14. Packaging / Wrapping – do I provide this and what happens to it afterwards?

  • Yes provide your own wrapping and packing sufficient for your own purposes.
  • All other wrapping materials should be taken away unless you wish to donate these to us. We can’t promise to keep, store, or return everyone’s packing materials.
